Exploration Through Play
The Virginia Discovery Museum follows a free-flowing, single-floor layout comprised of two main galleries and maintains several hands-on educational play areas over 6,000 square feet of exhibit space. There is no preset route to follow, so families are invited to explore our exhibits at their own pace and in any order they choose. Each area is designed to engage children cognitively, physically, and socially, and our staff seeks to foster an environment in which children learn through exploratory and imaginative play and collaborative problem-solving.
