Donate to VDM
The Virginia Discovery Museum is the community’s museum, and as a nonprofit resource, we rely on the generosity of friends and neighbors, businesses, organizations, and foundations to inspire lifelong learning among children in the Charlottesville-Albemarle region. Your support for our Museum and mission helps provide our youngest community members with educational and playful opportunities for discovery and cognitive development in a clean, safe space, regardless of a family’s ability to pay admission. The learning environment and experiences made possible at VDM enable children of all backgrounds to explore new skills and concepts, build resourcefulness, and develop focus and resilience. Please consider giving today to support the Museum’s work in building a stronger community for all.
How Does My Gift Support VDM?
Help the Virginia Discovery Museum use your gift in the best possible way and where it is needed most.
The Museum currently maintains 10 unique areas for exploratory and imaginative play. Your gift helps us maintain current exhibit components, create new exhibit spaces, and ensure a safe, clean environment.
Educational Programs & Outreach
VDM offers enrichment and learning opportunities through weekly drop-in programs, pop-up activities, special events, spring and summer break camps, field trips, and outreach programs like StarLab. Your gift helps us stock craft supplies and other educational materials, continuously improve the quality of our program offerings, introduce new programming, and expand our presence in the community.
The Museum’s Sponsored Admission program allows underserved children and families in our community to utilize VDM’s safe space and gallery resources free of charge through their affiliations with more than 40 community agencies. Your gift helps us keep this program vibrant for these visitors and partner groups and allows us to expand its benefits to new organizations.
