Thank you, Volunteers!

VDM Celebrates Volunteers at Appreciation Party

August 17, 2016  |  Back to Blog & News

Each year, the Virginia Discovery Museum relies on the time and talents of volunteers, who play an invaluable role in daily operations, exhibit repair and maintenance, educational programming, and special events. Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Party is a small way for our staff to say thank you to those who give so much to the Museum.

This year, more than 300 volunteers, from 15 to 85 years old, worked over 3,700 hours at the Museum!

Tuesday evening, staff and volunteers enjoyed food and drinks donated by several community businesses, and each volunteer received a Virginia Discovery Museum t-shirt and a small gift. Three longtime volunteers were presented with personalized plaques, recognizing more than 26 years of service at the Museum.
