To many, art can seem like a foreign form of expression that can only be made by those who are "creative" or have natural talent. Off with the labels! Local artisan Irene Jennings will teach an 8-week class in which girls can come together, experienced and beginner, in a comfortable environment and learn about women in the art world. Discuss the women who challenged the idea of what defines an artist or a movement, examine what it means to be a woman creating art in the modern day, and explore how the work of other female artists affects you and your artwork. The Museum will host an art show at the end of the 8 weeks to share the pieces created during class.
