A great venue for the young and young at heart
The Virginia Discovery Museum’s open layout, bright colors, interactive exhibits, and prime location on Charlottesville’s historic Downtown Mall provide a fun, whimsical, and unique atmosphere for any corporate or social event. Planning a club function, company party, baby shower, graduation event, reception, retirement celebration, reunion, or team-building retreat? Enjoy the entire Museum to yourselves with VDM’s Sunday and after-hours facility rentals! The Museum has hosted educational seminars, Scout troop meetings, church group activities, corporate cocktail events, and even a wedding party, and we can’t wait to provide a memorable setting for your next event.
The Museum space is available for private rental on Sundays and starting after 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Rental times are subject to staff availability, and all facility rentals must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. A $50 deposit is required to reserve a date, and reservations made less than two weeks before the requested date are subject to a $35 late fee. Deposits are refundable until two weeks before the event date.

Virginia Discovery Museum annual members receive a 15% discount on the Museum’s facility rental rate for private events.

Have a date for your event in mind? Call (434) 977-1025 x102 or email email@example.com to find out if the Museum is available for a facility rental. After our staff has helped you settle on a rental date and time and the facility rental contract has been signed and returned, a $50 deposit is required to reserve the date.
Note: The date and time for your facility rental are not reserved until you receive a confirmation from the Museum that the reservation deposit has been received.
