Supplies
  • Electric Mixer
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Dish Soap
  • Kool Aid Packets, Gatorade Mix, or Food Coloring
  • Big Plastic Tub (Optional)
Instructions:
  1. Add ¼ cup warm water to your bowl.
  2. Squirt a heavy dose of dish soap into your bowl.
  3. Add one of your Kool Aid packets (or Gatorade mix/food coloring).
  4. Mix with an electric hand mixer for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
  5. Optional: If you have a big, plastic tub, dump your fluffy suds into it and repeat the steps above with different colors.

Age Adjustments
  • Younger Children:
    • Leave suds in tub for a sensory play experience.
    • Toss in some toys for them to wash with the suds. (Remind them that the foam won’t taste good.)
    • Talk about different colors and how they mix together.
  • Older Children:
    • Talk about different colors and how they mix together.
    • Challenge them to mix a specific color.
    • Predict what would happen if you freeze your suds.
    • Predict what would happen if you microwave your suds.
